Anti-wrinkle treatment
Anti-wrinkle treatment involves the use of wrinkle-relaxing treatments to temporarily cease the communication between the nerve and the muscle at targeted sites. Once administered, already present wrinkles will be diminished across sites such as the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), lines around the mouth, lines on the nose (bunny lines), and chin dimples.
Treatment of clenching and grinding
We can also use these treatments to relax the masseter muscles responsible for clenching and grinding, which helps relieve symptoms of TMJ complications. The treatments relax the masseter muscle, reducing involuntary clenching and grinding. We may also prescribe a mouthguard or splint to help prevent further tooth wear due to clenching and grinding.
Gummy smiles
A gummy smile is characterised as a smile that exposes a significant proportion of gum tissue. Using anti-wrinkle treatments, we can reduce muscle activity in the upper lip, which helps conceal the excess gum that would otherwise be exposed when you smile.
Dermal fillers
As we age, the skin naturally produces less hyaluronic acid, a substance responsible for maintaining youthful-looking, tight, and supple skin. With dermal fillers, we can reintroduce this natural building block, which improves skin volume and creates a tightening effect. Dermal fillers increase volume and hydration at sites such as the cheeks, under-eye area and nasolabial folds. Their versatility also allows us to help patients achieve a more flattering jawline and lip area by increasing volume and shaping these areas with hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers can last in the region of 6-9 months, and you will notice the results in a matter of days. One of the further benefits of dermal fillers is that once administered, they ‘fill in’ fine lines at the sites that have been treated.
